Jumpfest 2018, the 92nd Annual Ski Jumping Championships
February 9 @ 12:00 am - February 11 @ 12:00 am$15
Jumpfest 2018, the 92nd Annual Ski Jumping Championships will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, February 9-11, 2018 at Satre Hill, Salisbury, CT. The event is sponsored by the Salisbury Winter Sports Association (SWSA).
The three-day event is comprised of three different jumping competitions with some of the most talented young jumpers in the eastern US. Many of them are Junior National hopefuls, and some will make it to the Olympics.
Friday evening is a fun night for the competitors- they jump under the lights trying to hit a target for prizes. There is also a Human Dog Sled Race (see separate profile) after the jumping. There are bonfires burning all three days, and food and beverages are available for sale.
Saturday is the Salisbury Invitational Ski Jumping Competition. This is a judged event where both style and distance count toward the jumpers’ scores.
Sunday is the Eastern U.S. Ski Jumping Championships where the jumpers will be giving it their all. It is a required jump for athletes who are aiming to make the Junior National team.
Jumpfest is a spectator event. The cost for entry to any of the three competitions is $15 for adults. Children 12 years and under are admitted for free.
