The Lauren Bardino Memorial 5K Run/Walk will be held Sunday, September 6 – Saturday, October 31, 2020. at Platt Hill State Park, 429 Platt Hill Road, Winsted, CT 06098.

Here is the story behind the race:

” This 3rd annual (VIRTUAL THIS YEAR) race is memory of our beautiful daughter, Lauren, who lost her life to the opioid epidemic in Dec 2017.    She was very creative and artistic…. And loved humankind beyond measure…

Since so many have lost love ones to this epidemic, join us in helping to raise awareness, to end the stigma, the shame, and to provide hope.

We encourage those who are in recovery,to join us as well.

With the support of all ,  we can provide hope,  encourage healthy coping mechanisms, and  help others overcome , Not  only the grief fornthose who have suffered a loss, but the demons of this disease for those thay silently suffer.

This race is in the beautiful, picturesque, rolling hills of Winchester. Beginning and ending at a favorite park of Laurens .

It is a 3.1 mile course that begins on a short hill, then downhill through the winding curvy roads of Winchester. It ends on a dirt road with a steep hill at the end , leveling out to the finish …… hope to see you there!
