Pittsfield 2019 Super Plunge and Polar Plunge
The Pittsfield 2019 Super Plunge and Polar Plunge will be held Saturday and Sunday, March 30 – 31, 2019 at Burbank Park, Onota Lake, Valentine Road, Pittsfield, MA.
This event was formerly known as the Poultry Plunge and Super Plunge and was held in November.
The Super Plunge will begin on the 30th and the Polar Plunge will be held on the 31st. Super Plungers will jump into Onota Lake’s frigid waters once every hour for 24 consecutive hours. Polar Plungers will take the leap on the final hour on March 31st.
The event is sponsored by the Berkshire Law Enforcement Torch Run Program and Special Olympics, Massachusetts.
There is no entry fee for either the Polar Plunge or the Super Plunge, but there are fundraising requirements for each.
Polar Plungers must raise $100 per person to get a free T shirt for their one-time shot ( they can participate with a lesser donation, but they won’t receive the T shirt). There are larger awards for larger donations. Go to polarplungema.org to learn more about donation awards.
Super Plungers must fundraise $1000 each.
Last year, the 10 Super Plungers raised $13,000 for Special Olympics Massachusetts.
