Steel Rail Half Marathon and 8K

The Steel Rail Half Marathon and 8K will be held Sunday, May 19, 2019. The half marathon will start at the Berkshire Mall in Lanesboro , MA and end at the Visitors center in Adams, MA. The 8K will begin 8K back from the Half Marathon route end and also finish at the Visitors Center. Got that?

Parking will be at the Berkshire Mall parking lot at J.C. Penny’s. The 8K parking will be at the Cheshire Elementary School, Cheshire Town garage and on-street parking.

Buses will take runners’ belongings to the finish line as well as schlep participants back to the Berkshire Mall after the award ceremonies.

The registration is as complicated as the parking.

Registration is limited to the first 1,000 entrants and 300 for the 8K.

Entry fees:

$65 half, $30 8K  by Feb. 28th

$75 half,  $35 8K  Mar 1st – Apr. 30th

$85 half, $40 8K  May 1st – May 16th

Tech short-sleeved shirts to everyone (both races) who register by April  15th.

All 8K runners get short sleeved T shirt if registered by April 15th.

Friday, May 17th at Berkshire Running Center, 34 Depot St, Pittsfield, MA

10:00 am- 6:00 pm   Packet pickup

Saturday, May 18th

10:00 am – 5:00 pm Packet pickup

Race Day

7:00 am – 8:45 am at Berkshire Mall Half marathon packet pickup

8:30 am – 9:30 am at the Ashuwillticook Trail Head 8K packet pickup

9:30 am  Half Marathon begins

10:00 am  8K begins

Custom medals to all half marathon finishers. For all finishers  one free Berkshire  Brewing Co beer (with ID); $3 food voucher and music after the races.

Half marathon awards to overall male and female top three places and top three finishers in each of seven age categories.

8K awards to overall male and female top three places and top three in each of seven age categories.

A portion of the race proceeds will benefit maintenance and expansion of the Ashuwillticook Rail trail.

$46,000 has been raised over the past six years.
