First Day Hike at Topsmead State Forest

First Day Hike at Topsmead State Forest, Wednesday, January 1, 2020, Buell Road, Litchfield, CT. Meet in the parking lot by State of Connecticut sign at 10:00 am. This is an easy hike approximately 2 miles. Bring water and snowshoes if needed. Dogs on leash welcome. Contact: Bruce Baldwin (860) 921-6374. Sponsor: Friends of Topsmead State Forest. First Day Hikes are free and therefore not fundraisers. They meant to bring awareness to the State Parks and promote outdoor activity.

Milton Resolution 30th Annual 5 Mile Run

The Milton Resolution 30th Annual 5 Mile Run will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020 at Milton Hall, Milton Road, Village of Milton, in Litchfield, CT. In case of inclement weather, listen to WZBG 97.3 FM or WTIC 1080 AM for postponement news. January 2nd is the postponement date. The Ferncliff 6th Annual Fat Fest will be held Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Ferncliff Forest, 68 Mountain Road, Rhinebeck, NY 12572. This informal event, which is  hosted by Revolution Bicycles, is non-competitive with several ride options available depending on ability. Rhinebeck Bagels is also a sponsor. The Bob and Peg Andrulis 18th Annual Sweetheart Run/Walk will be held Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, at the Litchfield Community Center, 421 Bantam Road, Litchfield, CT 06759.
