Northwest CT YMCA Norbrook Farm 5K Trail Run

The Northwest CT YMCA Norbrook Farm 5K Trail Run is back as part of the YMCA Show & Go Run Series.

The second- year race had been postponed from its early May slot because of the pandemic, but it has been resurrected along with two other popular Y races- the Canaan Rail Road Days 5 Mile and the Highland Lake 5K and bundled into a new semi-virtual race series.

Let me explain “semi-virtual”.

The Norbrook Farm 5K will be run on the Norbrook Farm Brewery trails, located at 204 Stillman Hill Road, Colebrook, CT 06021, but you can run the course at a date and time of your choosing- between now and November 30th.

Here is how the folks at NW CT Y explain it: “The goal of the YMCA Show & Go Run Series is to provide a safe series of run/ walk events throughout Northwest CT. Pick your day, run your race, & enjoy a complimentary beverage all in your own bubble. Have fun while helping to raise funds for kids and families unable to afford the full cost of Y programs.

Runners will enjoy this 5K trail run through the beautiful property, along the pristine trails, into the fields, and finishing at the brewery itself. This event still allows participants to participate in a competitive event, but allows the run to be completed with your own choice of date & time.

Runners will receive a course map and a beverage coupon upon registration.** Please use a running app (Nike, Strava, Map my run, etc.) to time your race. Email us (marketing@nwcty.org) your name, a screenshot of your final race results listing distance and time, & a selfie from the finish line! Results must be sent to us by November 30th, 2020.

To register go here: https://nwcty.org/portfolio-archive/norbrook-farm-5k-trail-run/

Stay safe, get active & have fun! Don’t forget to grab your FREE drink at Norbrook Farm Brewery after your run (drink ticket must be provided).”

** Beverage coupons will be emailed out Mon-Friday after registration. Any registration coming through after 3 pm on Friday will be sent their drink ticket the next Monday – Thank you!

“At the Y, we believe that families who play together, stay together. Our Show & Go Run Series is a fantastic way for a family to share healthy values. Together, we can participate in a walk or run to benefit those who cannot afford the cost of Y programs.

Proceeds will be used to help the Y to weather the storm so we can continue to serve children and families in need throughout this pandemic.”

The Norbrook Farm 5K Trail Run, along with the Y’s other races, is sponsored by Center Subaru in Torrington, CT.
