Monument Cup 20th Annual Soccer Tournament

The Monument Cup 20th Annual Soccer Tournament will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Monument Mountain Regional High School, 600 Stockbridge Road, Great Barrington, MA 01230.

This is a 3 on 3 youth tournament accepting the following age categories: Boys U 10, U12 and U14 and Girls U10, U 12 and U14.

Maximum four players per team. Every team is assured three games.

Entry fees:

$80 per team before Aug. 15th, $100 thereafter . Registration closes when each division reaches 16 teams.

Monument Mountain Regional High School Spartan Football Golf Tournament

The Monument Mountain Regional High School Spartan Football Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 at the Egremont Country Club, 685 S. Egremont Road, Great Barrington, MA 01230.

The tournament is an 18 hole, four-person scramble. The entry fee is $100 per person which includes green fees, cart, complimentary coffee and donuts, buffet lunch, on-course contests and awards. There will also be a raffle.

The tournament day schedule is as follows:

8-9 am Registration, coffee and donuts.

9 am Shotgun start

Awards and buffet lunch after tournament.

Proceeds from the tournament will help fund new equipment and bus transportation costs for the Monument Mountain High School Spartan Football Team through its Booster Club.

Berkshire Bike N Fly

The Berkshire Bike N Fly Bike Ride will be held Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Great Barrington Airport, 70 Egremont Rd., Great Barrington, MA 01230.

This non-competitive bike ride, co-sponsored by the Great Barrington Rotary Club and Great Barrington Airport is part of the Berkshire Bike N Fly festival. The rain date for the entire event is Sunday, Aug. 19th.

Riders can choose among three different routes: a 20, 35 and 52 mile ride. Visit berkshirebiksnfly.org for bike routes.

The entry fee for the bike ride is $40 per person which includes entry into the Berkshire Bike N Fly festival.

Pre-register online at Bikereg.com- the first 100 registrants will receive a Bike N Fly T-shirt. Online registration ends Aug. 17th at 5:00 pm. Event day registration will be $50. For a paper registration form go to berkshirebikenfly.org, print out the form and mail with check to:

Festival activities include balloon rides, remote controlled plane and paragliding demonstrations, food vendors, helicopter rides, live music and much more.

Earth Angels Fight Against Cancer Golf Tournament

The  Earth Angels Fight Against Cancer Golf Tournament will be held Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Egremont Country Club, 685 S. Egremont Road, Great Barrington, MA 01230 .

The event is a four-person scramble for both men and women. The cost is $125 per person which includes green fees, cart, lunch, refreshments, prizes, dinner and a NIKE “Dri-Fit” Golf shirt as a tournament souvenir.

To guarantee getting your shirt size, you must register by July 9th.

The tournament will also include on-course prizes including  a hole-in-one opportunity on every par three hole. The Grand Prize is an $11,000 golf trip to Pebble Beach.

James Ducillo Annual Canaan Exchange Club Golf Tournament

The James Ducillo Annual Canaan Exchange Club Golf Tournament will be held Monday, August 6, 2018 at Wyantenuck Country Club, 46 W. Sheffield Road, Great Barrington, MA 01230.

The entry fee for the 18 hole four person scramble format event is $135 per person which includes green fees, cart, BBQ lunch, on-course contests, awards, hors-D’oeuvres and dinner. There will also be a 50-50 raffle. The tournament will be held rain or shine.

On-course contests include longest drive, closest to the line, closest to the pin and hole-in-one challenge (2018 GMC Sierra sponsored by Berkshire Aviation).

Registration is in advance only. Registration payment must be received by August 1st. The field is limited to the first 30 registered foursomes. Make checks payable to: Canaan Exchange Club Foundation and mail to : Canaan Exchange Club, P.O. Box 651, Canaan, CT 06018.

Guido’s GR8T 8 Mile Race

Guido’s GR8T 8 Mile Race will be held Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Guido’s Fresh Marketplace, Route 7, Great Barrington, MA.

Registration fee is $30 per person before July 22; $35 from July 23 through August 4 and $40 on race day. Add $2 processing fee to online registrations. Technical Race Shirt to the first 75 registrants, shirt sizes not guaranteed. Refreshments from Guido’s Fresh Marketplace after the race.

Race day schedule is as follows:

6:30-7:30 am Final Registration, Race number pick up (no registration after 7:30 am)

8:00 am Race begins.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three overall finishers, both male and female as well as the top finisher in each of six age categories.

Proceeds from the race will benefit Porchlight VNA/Home Care Nursing Assistant Training Program.

Great Barrington Rotary 35th Annual Drive for Scholarships Golf Tournament

The Great Barrington Rotary 35th Annual Drive for Scholarships Golf Tournament will be held Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Wyantenuck Country Club, 46 W. Sheffield Road, Great Barrington, MA 01230.

The 18 hole four person scramble format event costs $110 per person which includes green fees, cart, lunch, tee gift and awards. For another $20, golfers can take part in on-course contests like closest to the pin, longest drive, a putting contest and two hole in one prizes ($10,000 for one, a new vehicle for the other). There will also be a Chinese raffle.

Registration deadline is July 1st.

The tournament day schedule is as follows:

8:00 am  Registration, continental breakfast, raffle.

9:00 am  Shotgun Start

Lunch and awards follow the tournament.

Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Rotary Club Scholarship Fund which awarded $60,000 in scholarships in 2017. Each year the golf tournament, which is the Rotary Club’s biggest fundraiser, brings in $40-$45,000.

Relay For Life of Berkshire County

The Relay For Life of Berkshire County, There’s No place Like Hope, will be held on Friday and Saturday, June 22-23, 2018 at the Monument Mountain Regional High School, 600 Stockbridge Road, Great Barrington, MA.

Team members take turns walking around a track or other designated course. A requirement is that each team has a member walking at all times.

Money is raised by teams who solicit donations from individuals and businesses. There are a number of fundraising options some of which continue year round.

Although the time spans may vary (anywhere from six to 24 hours), the schedule for all of the Relay for Life events pretty much follows a standard format. Relays include an Opening Ceremony followed by the Survivors Lap, the Caregivers Lap, the Luminaria Ceremony and Closing Ceremony.

Noon Closing Ceremonies

Relay For Life started in 1985 when Dr. Gordon “Gordy” Klatt walked/ran for 24 hours on a track in Tacoma, Washington to raise money and awareness to help the American Cancer Society.

Today teams raise funds at over 3,500 Relay events nationwide.

Proceeds from Relay For Life events “help the American Cancer Society fund ground-breaking cancer research, crucial patient care services, and prevention and early detection programs.”
