Murphy Open

The Murphy Open, the tournament where “the only rule is that there are no rules” tees off for the 24th year Monday, June 10, 2019 at the Egremont Country Club in South Egremont, MA.

Cost for the 18 hole, four-person scramble format event is $125 per person which includes lunch, cart, green fees, tournament prizes, on-course contests and a post tournament buffet. There is a $480 per team price if pre-registered by June 1st.

Men’s, women’s and mixed teams welcome. No Professionals please.

New This Year: MURPHY OPEN FASHION SHOW, inspired by Murphy Open founder Fred Stevenson who has, for decades, sported his Payne Stewart-esque outfit. This will be a pay-to-enter event ($10) on the day for registered golfers only  which benefits the Bargain Barn in Sharon, CT. The show is sponsored by and the Bargain Barn of Sharon.

There will be awards for 1st place and prize money for first, second and third place teams regardless of category for 1st place men’s, women’s and mixed teams as well fun last place and slowest team awards.

Contests include closest to the pin, longest drive,  closest to the line and many hole-in-one opportunities sponsored by WHDD Robin Hood Radio. Golfers can also bid on prizes in a Chinese raffle which is supported by businesses throughout the Tri-State region, and will be  offered during registration and lunch. A silent auction will run all day with a larger prize package anchored by Herrington’s  .

Tournament day schedule is as follows:

11:00 am Registration and lunch (cooked-to-order burgers and dogs)

12:00 noon Shotgun start

Awards, Chinese  Raffle, silent auction winner reveal, and slider buffet immediately following tournament.

Proceeds from the Tournament will benefit local VFW and American Legion Posts.

The Murphy Open was organized to honor the life of William “Murph” Mayberry.

Litchfield Open 29th Annual Golf Tournament

The Litchfield Open 29th Annual Golf Tournament will be held Monday, June 10,  2019 at the Torrington Country Club, 250 Torrington Road, Goshen, CT 06056.

The tournament is sponsored by the Litchfield Lions Club.

The entry fee for the four-person, handicap format tournament is $130  through 6/9 and $140 on tournament day. The fee includes green fee, cart, lunch and dinner.

Prizes will go to Team Low Gross, Team Low Net, Mixed Team Low Net, Senior Team Low Net. Foursomes can choose from 2 formats: team scramble or best ball(s) of the foursome (each golfer plays his own ball).

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Litchfield Sports Booster Club’s effort “to fund sports-related projects beyond the scope of school budget.”

Amenia Lions Club 27th Annual Golf Tournament

The Amenia Lions Club 27th Annual Golf Tournament will be held Monday June 10, 2019 at the Copake Country Club, 44 Golf Course Road, Craryville, NY 12521.

The entry fee for the four-person scramble is $115 per person which includes green fees, morning snacks, cart, on-course beverages, burgers and dogs at the turn, steak/chicken lunch, on-course contests, event bag and awards.

Contests include longest drive, closest to the pin, double your money, between the lines and a putting contest. Mulligans can be purchased at registration.

Registration and payment are requested by June 6th.

Steak/Chicken Lunch and awards after the tournament.
