Dorothy Finnegan 18th Annual 5K Race for Education

The Dorothy Finnegan 18th Annual 5K Race for Education,  will be held Monday, May 27,  2019 at Lee Middle and High School, Greylock St., Lee, MA 01238.

Pre-register online or find mail in forms at berkshirerunningcenter.com.

Entry fee is $20 +$2 signup fee until May 25th, $25 on race day.

Mail in registration is $20 if postmarked by May 16th, $22 after.

Timing by Berkshire Running Center.

Rest rooms available

T shirts to first 90 registrants.

8:30 am  Race begins

Awards and raffle after race

Prizes to overall top finishers, male and female as well as top age group finishers.

The race is held by the family of Dorothy Finnegan to honor her many years of teaching in Lee schools. Proceeds from the race will fund annual scholarships to Lee seniors pursuing a career in education.

Vintage Tennis Tournament

The Vintage Tennis Tournament, part of the Lee Founders Weekend, will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Greenock Country Club, West Park St., Lee, MA.

The tournament, which will be held on red clay courts, will be a round robin, doubles format.

Entry fee is $20 per person which includes play, refreshments and awards.

The tournament is limited to only 16 players, so register early at www.leecta.com to avoid disappointment.

Organizers have one suggestion and two requirements for the tournament. The suggestion: entrants are encouraged to wear vintage tennis attire for the tournament. First requirement: entrants must have a NTRP rating of 3.5-4.0. Second requirement: entrants must use a wooden racquet for the competition. Organizers have a supply of wooden racquets for those without one.

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit youth tennis programs and help maintain tennis facilities.
