The Falcon Fun Run 5K/10K Trail Run will be held Sunday, May 20, 2018 at the Indian Mountain School, 211 Indian Mountain Road, Lakeville, CT 06039.
The 5K and 10K races utilize the schools trails and show off the 600 acre campus. The 5K is considered moderately challenging while the 10K is very challenging . The events will be held rain or shine.
Pre-register at eventbrite.com before May 15th. Pre-registration entry fee is $28 plus $3.61 Eventbrite fee. Race day registration is still $28. T shirts to the first 100 registrants.
The races will be professionally timed by Greystone Timing.

Trinket- style awards will be granted after the races.
Proceeds from the event will help defray the costs of trail preparation and other expenses while exposing runners to the beauty of the Indian Mountain School campus.

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes will be held Sunday, May 20, 2018 at the Litchfield Green, Litchfield CT 06759. The rain or shine event is hosted by Walk a Mile in Her Shoes (registered), an international men’s march where men and boys “lead the way on the road to end sexual and domestic violence”.
This event is a 1 mile walk for males who will wear women’s red high-heeled shoes to reflect their support.
The entry fee for the walk is $50 per person up to and including event day. Individuals and teams are encouraged to raise pledge and donation funds before the event. Entry fee includes shoes and T shirt.
Red high heel shoes while supplies last and red shoe covers for those who cannot wear heels. Children can wear their own red shoes.

The Northwest CT Rod & Gun Club Fishing Derby will be held Sunday, May 20, 2018 at the NW CT Rod & Gun Club, 148 South Canaan Road, Canaan, CT 06018.
The Derby is a free event for children 16 years old and under. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
A new bicycle will be awarded to the fisherperson with the longest fish in each of four age categories- 0-5 years old; 6-11; 11-13; 13-16. All participants will receive a free raffle gift. There will be hotdogs and hamburgers available free to the children and for sale to adults.
Pre-registration for the Derby is not required.
The Derby day schedule at the Club’s trout-stocked pond is as follows:

9:00 am Fishing begins
Noon Fishing ends.
The Derby provides youngsters with a great opportunity to hone their fishing skills infriendly competition.

The first-year event is sponsored by the Torrington Police Department in collaboration with the Police Activities League.
