Paddle for Preservation River Race

The Paddle for Preservation River Race will be held Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Main Stream Kayaks and Canoes, 170 Main Street (Route 44), New Hartford, CT 06057.

Please note: Registration and the race finish line are at the above address. The race start line is in Pleasant Valley.

There will be four classes in the 2.5 mile race on the Farmington River : single kayak, single canoe, tandem kayak and tandem canoe. There will also be a non-competitive Fun Flotilla that begins after races start.

The entry fee schedule:

$25 for single and $30 for tandem through June 14th, $30 and $35 respectively after June 14th.

Competitors must provide their own personal flotation equipment. Either bring your own boats or rent them at Main Stream at discounted prices.

Race day schedule:

9:00 am Registration (Main Stream Kayaks and Canoes)

10:30 am Races begin (Pleasant Valley)

11:30 am – 2:30 pm Awards and post-race party including live music, food trucks, Legitimus Beer and more.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the New Hartford Land Trust in their efforts to conserve water resources and open space in New Hartford.
