Friends of Moe 10th Annual Golf Tournament
The Friends of Moe 10th Annual Golf Tournament will be held Sunday, September 22, 2019 at the Egremont Country Club in Great Barrington, MA.
The tournament is a four- person, gross and handicap scramble format. There is a two-putt maximum. If all four team members miss the first putt, the second putt is good. Otherwise, typical scramble rules apply.
The entry fee is $110 per person which includes green fees, cart, lunch, on-course contests, awards and dinner. Contests include hole in one, closest to the pin, longest drive, most accurate drive and more. There will also be a putting and chipping contest as well as a raffle.
Entry to the tournament is by pre-registration only, but the event always fills up, so register early by calling Randy Koldys at (413) 717-0606 or email him at rkoldys2004@yahoo.com.
The tournament day schedule is as follows:
10:00 am Registration
11:00 am Shotgun start
Bagged lunch provided
Dinner and awards
All proceeds from the tournament will benefit local people suffering from cancer and other serious illnesses. In the tournament’s last nine years, $142,000 has been raised. This year, organizers hope to raise $20,000 to aid three individuals.
The Friends of Moe Golf Tournament was organized to honor Maureen “Moe” Snyder who passed away in 2003 after a battle with leukemia. Her life inspired some of her friends to start this tournament as a way to both honor her memory and raise funds to help those similarly afflicted.
Because of the number of people involved in this tournament, organizers consider it a community event as much as a tournament.
For more information about the tournament, again, call Randy at (413) 717-0606.
