The Rhinebeck Ferncliff Forest 5K Turkey Trot will be held Thursday, November 25, 2021 at 9 Astor Dr, Corner of Montgomery St, Rhinebeck, NY US 12572.

The entry fee is $30.

 The first 500 will get a soft cotton T shirt.

 Changes were implemented  last  year to keep us socially distanced to prevent the spread. The new format worked really well so we will do it the same way this year with a few changes.  Please wear a mask if you are un vaccinated .

We will be starting runners as they come to the line in a 30 minute window from 8:00 till 8:30.   You will sign up for a time and please start in the 5 min window.  We will be doing chip timing start and finish.

If you think you will earn a medal please sign up for an early group. It will give us more time to figure the results.  (All runners will be timed no matter when you start)

We will have a raffle of goods and services from local merchants.  Please use the Donation button to be entered in the raffle. $5 for each chance at winning a prize!  I will update the list of prizes as we get closer. 

When 
Thursday Nov 25th, 2020 – Thanksgiving Morning  8:00am  to 8:30am  Chip timed Rolling start. Runners will be started, spaced apart, every few seconds until all have started. Assigned Runners will be started during each 5 minute block.  Families / households can be started together.

The Course
All on Paved road- Montgomery St /Mt Rutsen Road from Astor Dr. to Ferncliff Forest and back. Paved road course out and back. Gentle rolling Hills.

Awards  
Awards to top 3 overall male and female finishers, top 3 male and female age group finishers. All Kids under 10 will receive an award.

Before the Event
-If you have COVID related symptoms please stay home. Symptoms include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headaches, the new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.
-We recommend high-risk individuals and individuals traveling from high infection areas to consider not attending our event.
Packet Pick-Up
We will not be using the hall, all activities will be outside on the Baptist Church lawn. We will have a limited number of Porta Potties

Please try to pick up your bib and shirt the night before.

-Option #1: Pick up your bib and shirt at the tent in the Baptist Church parking lot, 9 Astor Drive, Rhinebeck. Wed Nov 24th  between 4:30pm and 7:30pm.  Please try to attend the Wednesday night pick-up option if possible.
-Option #2: Race Day bib pick-up starting 7:45am. There will be a tent on the Baptist church lawn.

Rolling Start
-Choose your rolling start time online prior to race day. Please arrive as close to your start time as possible. Allow a little extra time if you need to pick up your bib morning of. Please wait at your car if you arrive early.
-You will have a 10-minute window to start your event. The rolling start will help from congregating at the start line and avoid overcrowding during the run. We have chip timing so when you cross the start mat your race will officially begin, and it will end when you cross the finish mat. Your time will not necessarily be the time displayed on the clock.
Start Line
-We will be spreading runners out while waiting to start , socially distanced, down the street.  Please wait at your car till 10 min before your start time to come to the start area. Don’t worry Because of the chip timing you can’t be late.
On Course
-When passing another racer, please announce your presence and intent to pass. Try your best to socially distance on the course.
Finish Line
-Once racers have finished your event, we ask that they do not gather in large groups finish line.
-Results will be posted online the same morning or texted to you if you wish.
-We ask that all spectators maintain proper social distancing from the runners during the event.

Proceeds from the races will benefit Rhinebeck Ferncliff Forest.
