Kara Zinke Emergency Fund 9th Annual Golf Tournament

The Kara Zinke Emergency Fund 9th Annual Golf Tournament, will be held Saturday, September 7  2019 at the Canaan Country Club, 74 High St., Canaan, CT 06018.

The price for the 18 hole, four-person scramble is $110 per person which includes green fees, cart, prizes, lunch and a buffet dinner. On-course contests include closest to the hole, longest drive for men and women, a 50-50 challenge and a putting contest and raffle. There is a dinner-only option for $40.

Although golfers may register on tournament day, organizers recommend early registration because the tournament always fills up before the day of the event. Pre-register by calling Brenda Fife at (860) 671-1645.

The tournament day schedule is as follows:

9:30 am  Registration and continental breakfast

11:00 am  Shotgun Start

Lunch at the turn

Buffet Dinner and Awards.

Sponsorship opportunities range  from $50-$500. Raffle prize donations are also most welcome.

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Kara Zinke Emergency Fund, a division of the Canaan Northwest Lion’s Club. The tournament was started by the Zinke family in honor of Kara Zinke, who passed away in 1993. In the past year, the Fund has provided $13,000 to 26 families in need. The Fund is a way for the Zinke family to give back to the community for the kindnesses that they received after Kara’s passing.

Housatonic Youth Service Bureau 22nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament

The Housatonic Youth Service Bureau 22nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament will be held Monday,  August 19, 2019 at the Torrington Country Club, 250 Torrington Road, Goshen, CT 06756.

The cost for the four person 18 hole scramble format event is $150 per person which includes green fees, cart, BBQ lunch, on-course prizes, on-course beverages, one hour open bar and hors D’oeuvres. There will be a putting contest, hole in one prize as well as other on-course prizes.

The tournament day schedule is as follows:

11:00 am Registration, Instant Raffle and BBQ Lunch

12:30 pm Shotgun Start

5:30 pm Awards and Reception.

This event is the largest fundraiser for HYSB. Proceeds help fund HYSB’s programs including free clinical counseling for children, teens and their families in the Region 1 area. To find out more about HYSB go to www.hysb.org.

UNICO Golf Tournament

The UNICO Golf Tournament will be held Monday, July 15  2019 at the Torrington Country Club, 250 Torrington Road, Goshen, CT 06756.

The 18 hole tournament is a handicap (best ball)  format with prizes to be awarded for individual and team low gross and low net scores.

Cost for the event is $175 per person which includes green fees, cart, lunch, on-course beverages, on-course contests, dinner and prizes. Payment is requested by July 1. There is a $50 dinner-only option.

On-course contests include closest to the pin, closest to the line and longest drive.
