Northwest Connecticut Walk to End Alzheimer’s

The Northwest Connecticut Walk to End Alzheimer’s  will be held Sunday, September 19,2021 at Lime Rock Park, 60 White Hollow Rd., Lakeville, CT .

With the dollars we raise, the Alzheimer’s Association® can provide care and support during these uncertain times while advancing critical research toward methods of treatment and prevention.

While there is no fee to register for Walk, all participants are encouraged to raise critical funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support and advance research toward methods of prevention, treatment and, ultimately, a cure.

Day’s Schedule:

The goal for the NW CT Walk is $79,500 for 2021.

Vintage Race & Sports Car Parade

Vintage Race & Sports Car Parade & Historic Festival 39’s Opening Event
Thursday, September 2, 2021
4:00-7:00 pm

Lime Rock Park’s annual Historic Festival opens with one of longest automotive parades in the Northeast, the Vintage Race Car & Sports Car Parade. With bystanders viewing from the roadside, more than 100 cars rally 17 miles through local towns. 

The parade leaves Lime Rock Park at 4 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2021, making its way along a 17-mile route, including the towns of Lime Rock, Lakeville, Salisbury and Falls Village.

About an hour after the start, the parade of cars arrives in Falls Village for the Street Fair: Live music with Wanda Houston, entertainment, and great food.

“We have hit full capacity on our parade for this year! Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate drive up entries, stay tuned for next year if you would like to participate!

We welcome all spectators to join us for the Falls Village Street Fair for 5:30 pm to enjoy all of the beautiful cars, live music, entertainment, and great food!”

Historic Festival 39 Labor Day Weekend

Historic Festival 39 Labor Day Weekend will be held Thursday, September 2 – Monday, September 6, 2021 at Lime Rock Park, Lakeville, CT.

Now in its 39th year, the Historic Festival at Lime Rock Park has been a time-honored tradition since 1982. Enjoy vintage car racing at its best and a nostalgic journey through time.

Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021
The Vintage Race Car & Sports Car Parade is a 17-mile tour through the local towns that winds back to Lime Rock Park

Friday, Sept. 3, 2021
The Festival kicks off with a full day of practice and qualifying. Concession Stand and Swap Meet are open.

Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021
The first day of racing makes Saturday one of the most exciting days at the Festival. Concession Stand and Swap Meet are open.

Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021
Of the Festival’s highlights, the Sunday in the Park Concours d’Elegance and Gathering of the Marques brings nearly 1,000 motorcars and motorcycles to the track. Stroll the Park and tap into your inner car enthusiast as you admire rare and exotic historic and vintage cars. Food trucks and vendors are found throughout.  Gates open at 7:00 a.m.  Show cars must be in place by 9:30 a.m.

Monday, Sept. 6, 2021 – Labor Day
The final day of authentic vintage car racing always produces spirited on-track action. Concession Stand and Swap Meet are open.

IMSA Northeast Grand Prix

IMSA Northeast Grand Prix will be held July 16 – 17, 2021 at Lime Rock Park, Lakeville, CT.

The IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship is one of the premier sports car racing series in the United States and Canada organized by the International Motor Sports Association or IMSA for short. The series competes at some of North America’s most recognized sports car venues, including Lime Rock Park for the Northeast Grand Prix held on July 16-17, 2021. The WeatherTech SportsCar Championship features multiple classes of awe-inspiring sports cars racing on the track at the same time, making for seemingly endless passing throughout the race. The majority of the races are timed races of 2 hours and 40 minutes.

  • In the premier WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GT Le Mans class, race-bred cars from factory and privateer teams battle for the overall win. This exciting class includes factory teams from Ford, Chevrolet, Porsche, Ferrari and BMW
  • In the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GT Daytona class, GT3-spec race cars join the party this year, including Lamborghini, McLaren, Audi, Porsche, Ferrari, Mercedes-AMG, Lexus and Acura NSX. Another exotic, hard-racing field
  • The Michelin Pilot Challenge Grand Sport class welcomes GT4-spec cars, which means in addition to the Porsche Caymans GT4, Ford Mustangs and Chevy Camaros, you also now have fantastic factory-prepped machines from makers such as McLaren and Aston Martin
  • The Michelin Pilot Challenge TCR class is made up of front-wheel drive cars with four or five doors produced by mainstream automotive manufacturers

Tickets are available at the gate or in advance, except for Friday only tickets. Advance ticket prices available until one week prior to the event (July, 9th). Tickets purchased online can be printed at home or mailed in advance.

Round Hill 98th Annual Highland Games

The Round Hill 98th Annual Highland Games will be held Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Lime Rock Park, 60 White Hollow Road, Lakeville, CT 06039.

The games offer family fun and festivities for Scots and Scots-At-Heart.

The Games are open to the public, and are held rain or shine. Tickets are $20 for adults ticket and $15 for children. Also military and vets with ID and their families are free. Kids enter for free if they are wearing a kilt and carrying a toy sword or dressed as Merida from the Disney movie “Brave.” All proceeds are collected by the Round Hill organization for benevolence and to preserve Scottish heritage, and to support the Alzheimer’s Association, Connecticut Chapter.

9:00 am – 5:00 pm.

The Round Hill Highland Games are the third oldest games of its type in the United States. Since 2016, the games have been held at Lime Rock Park. The original location was at the estate of Charles A. Moore on Round Hill Road in Greenwich, CT. At that time, they were held on the fourth of July for the estate workers who were mostly Scottish Americans. Since its beginning in 1923, the event has grown in popularity and today, is one of the most anticipated Scottish Highland Games held in the Northeast. Participants and visitors come from all over the country to enjoy the food, fun and festivities.

Experience Scottish heritage through clans, heavy athletes, bands, pipers, drummers and drum majors, and so much more, including:

SCCA New England Region Races

The SCCA New England Region Races will be held June 11-12, 2021 at Lime Rock Park, Lakeville, CT.

The Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) has been part of Lime Rock Park’s tradition since it opened in 1957. In fact, the track’s first-ever race weekend – late April, 1957 – was an SCCA New England Region event!

The New England Regionals are amateur racing at its finest. The SCCA has classes for every kind of race car imaginable, from virtually stock sedans and sports cars to formula cars of every type, and the competition is always close and exciting.

Friday is practice and qualifying and Saturday, the racing is from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a lunch break around Noon.

Trans Am Memorial Day Classic

The Trans Am Memorial Day Classic will be held May 28 – 31, 2021 at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, CT.

The Trans Am Series by Pirelli along with the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) and International GT are a riviting mix of modern and vintage race cars on the same weekend!

Trans Am features large car grids populated by Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers and Corvettes — a massive dose of pure Americana with a touch of nostalgia. The Trans Am Series began igniting the passion of motorsports fans in 1966 and has been home to some of the greatest names in road racing. IMSA Northeast Grand Prix Canceled for 2020

IMSA Northeast Grand Prix will be held Friday and Saturday, October 30 – 31, 2020 at Lime Rock Park, Lakeville, CT.

The International Motorsports Association (IMSA) and Lime Rock Park have agreed to reschedule the Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park as part of IMSA’s Return to Racing Plan announced today. Originally scheduled for July 17-18, 2020, the IMSA Northeast Grand Prix race weekend featuring the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the Michelin Pilot Challenge, will now be held at Lime Rock on October 30-31, 2020.

“IMSA is grateful to all of our promoter partners for collaborating with us to develop a revised schedule of outstanding events,” said IMSA President John Doonan. “Our No. 1 priority since March has been to get back to racing as safely and as quickly as possible, and this revised schedule is evidence of that. We appreciate the patience, cooperation and input of our IMSA stakeholders, and we all are very much looking forward to going racing again this summer and putting on amazing races for our audience.”

To fulfill the vision of this family-friendly weekend, series officials believe that rescheduling to October provides the best opportunity for a safe event for everyone involved. Current ticket purchases will be valid for the October event date.

Additionally, Lime Rock Park President Skip Barber expressed a commitment to holding a 2020 season all while protecting fans, participants and staff. “Lime Rock’s reopening task force is working diligently with state officials on a plan to reopen safely while providing a fun option for everyone.”

Lime Rock Park’s revised schedule of major events will kick off in September with the Historic Festival held over Labor Day weekend, followed by the Trans Am Fall Classic on October 16-18 and then the IMSA Northeast Grand Prix. The Park is expected to reopen to small, private events under enhanced safety protocols in the near future.

Trans Am Fall Classic Canceled for 2020

 

Canceled for 2020

Trans Am Fall Classic will be held Friday – Sunday, October 16 -18, 2020 at Lime Rock Park, Lakeville, CT, featuring the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli with SVRA and International GT.

The event was originally scheduled for Memorial Day weekend, May 22 -25, 2020.

To fulfill the vision of this family-friendly weekend, series officials believe that rescheduling to October will prove to be a safe option for fans and all who are involved with producing the event. Current ticket purchases will be valid for the October event date and current ticket holders will receive an email with further information in the coming days. Updated ticket information for the revised October event will be available soon.
