Walk a Mile in Her Shoes – Susan B. Anthony Project

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes – Susan B. Anthony Project will be held Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the Litchfield Green, Litchfield CT 06759. The rain or shine event is hosted by Walk a Mile in Her Shoes (registered), an international men’s march where men and boys “lead the way on the road to end sexual and domestic violence”.

Last year’s event featured a 1 mile walk for males who wore women’s red high-heeled shoes to reflect their support. This year, registration includes women, students and youngsters with various entry fee options.

The entry fees:

Men –  $35  up to April 30th, and $50 starting May 1st. Shoes and T shirts are included.

Women and students –   $15, shoes not included.

Sponsored Teams (paid by sponsoring business) –  Free , shoes and T shirts included.

Student sponsored teams (paid by schools) – Free, shoes not included

Virtual Walkers (online only), shoes and T shirt not included.

All registrants  are encouraged to raise pledge and donation funds before the event.

Red high heel shoes while supplies last and  red shoe covers for those who cannot wear heels. Children can wear their own red shoes.

The walk day schedule:

9:00 – 9:30 am  Check in , registration, music by Ian Campbell

9:30 – 10:00 am – Try on shoes, walking tutorial, coaching

10:00 am   Welcome

10:15 am  Walk begins

11:00 am  Prizes, awards, music, foot massages and more.

Prizes and awards for most pledges, biggest team, prizes for pledge levels and more.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Susan B. Anthony Project which provides domestic and sexual assault crisis services and prevention education to the women, men and children in the 20 towns in Connecticut’s northwest corner.
