Back the Track

Back the Track will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Veterans Field, Sharon, CT.

The walk is hosted by  Sharon Parks and Recreation.

The event Schedule:

11:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Bring family and friends to walk the recently-completed Track, and earn $1 for each lap !

Free hamburgers and hotdogs.

Proceeds will benefit the Sharon Daycare Center.

Inaugural Arrest and Extinguish ALS Event

The Inaugural Arrest and Extinguish ALS Event will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Tanglewood, Lenox, MA 01240.

The event is hosted by ALS Therapy Development Institute.

The event invites first responders from Massachusetts and beyond to form teams of five or 10 members to fundraise and join in a tug-of-war competition. The winners will be eligible for the Firefighter Combat Challenge in June.

There will also be a prize for the team with the most donations.

Proceeds from the event will benefit ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI), the largest nonprofit biotech focusing 100 percent on ALS research.

Lime Rock Park 2019 Season Kickoff Celebration

The Lime Rock Park 2019 Season Kickoff Celebration will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Lime Rock Park, 60 White Hollow Road, Lakeville, CT 06039.

The public is invited to this family-friendly event which celebrates the new racing season at Lime Rock Park. The day will feature cars on the track all day, music, local craft breweries, food trucks, local vendors, face painting, games bounce house, giveaways and more.

The event runs from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Entry to this event is free, but visitors are asked to bring a canned food or pet food item to support both The Corner Food Pantry and The Little Guild. Other non-profits like the Sharon Bargain Barn will be offering their vintage clothing line.

The Kickoff Celebration is sponsored by the Tri-State Chamber of Commerce, the Northwest CT Chamber of Commerce, CPTV Kids and Wheels of Time Auto Restoration.

AFSP Run For Hope 

The AFSP Run For Hope  will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Bethlehem Fairgrounds, 384 Main St. North, Bethlehem, CT 06751.

There will be both a 5K run and 2 mile walk. Parking at Fairgrounds, sorry only service dogs allowed.

The entry fee is $30 per person plus a $3.00 registration charge.

All pre-registrants receive a T-shirt and three raffle tickets. The first 100 registrants get swag bags. There is no number limit of runners, so you can register race day morning for $35.

Schedule is as follows:

May 17th (night before race)

6:00 – 8:30 pm    Early packet and  T- shirt  pickup at Nick’s Country Kitchen.

May 18th

8:30 am  Registration

10:00 am  Brief ceremony,  5K  begins followed immediately by 2 mile walk.

Awards and raffle after races.

Awards to top male and female overall finishers and to top male and females in each of eight age categories.

Proceeds from the race will benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in their work to raise awareness about depression, anxiety, PTSD and fight against suicide. To learn more about AFSP visit afsp.org.

Camphill Village 5K Trail and Fun Run

The Camphill Village 5K Trail and Fun Run will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Camphill Village, 84 Camphill Road, Copake, NY 12516. This three-option event has an interesting twist. Besides the 5K Trail Race and Fun Run/Walk around the campus, participants can choose to run from home or anywhere they happen to be.

Go to camphillvillage5k.org to register online. The entry fee for both the 5K and the Fun Run is $25, but you can sign up race day morning at the same $25 price. Everyone who signs up online will get a free T shirt. And here’s the third option. Register online (again $25) to run from home or wherever you happen the be on Race Day. After the race a T shirt will be sent to you if you pre-registered.

The race day schedule is as follows:

9:30 am   Registration

10:00 am  Both Fun Run and 5K begin

Light refreshments after the races.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Camphill Village to help fund their programs for children with developmental disabilities.
