Corn Hole Tournament

A Corn Hole Tournament will be held Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Eddie Collins Field, 5989 N. Elm Ave. (Route 22), Millerton, NY 12546. The corn hole tournament is part of the Hudson Valley Trail Ride festivities.

The entry fee for the single-elimination tournament is $10, payable at the event. There is no pre- registration. Arrive early to sign up, keeping in mind that traffic will be heavy in down town Millerton due to the Trail Ride. The corn hole tournament is open to everyone, not just Trail cyclists.

The event begins at 1:00 pm.

Winner will receive entry to next year’s Trail Ride valued at $85.

Proceeds will benefit the Sunday in the Country Food Drive.

Dave P. Waldron Annual Memorial Poker Run

The Dave P. Waldron Annual Memorial Poker Run will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the Millerton Fire House, 24 Century Boulevard, Millerton, NY 12546.

The rain or shine event begins at the Millerton Fire House and ends at the Lions Club Pavilion, Stissing Lake Road, Pine Plains, NY 12567.

The Run is helped by the Red Knights Motorcycle Club of New York Chapter 33.

The Run is open to cars, trucks and motorcycles. The enter fee is $20 for drivers, $15 for passengers and $10 for non-riders who want to join the after party.

Here’s how the Poker Run works. At registration you are given the first of five playing cards to begin your “hand”. The Run will make stops at three fire houses ( Millbrook, Pleasant Valley #2 and Stanfordville) over a 78 mile route. You will receive another card at each stop. At the journey’s end, at the Lions Pavilion, you will receive your fifth and final card to complete your hand. If you are dissatisfied with your hand, you may replace up to two more cards at $1 each.

The Poker Run day schedule:

9:00 – 11:00 am Registration, breakfast and coffee

11:00 am Blessing of the Bikes and Depart from Fire House

The Run covers 78 miles, stopping at three more fire houses.

1:00 pm Arrive at Lions Pavilion, Pine Plains.

Post- Run party- burgers and dogs, beverages, 50/50 Raffle and live music by Two Seventeen Band.

Proceeds from the Run will benefit the Sunday in the Country Food Drive which provides Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners to struggling local families.
