The Northwest CT Rod and Gun Club Turkey Shoot will be held Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021 at the Northwest CT Rod and Gun Club, 148 South Canaan Rd (Route 7), Canaan, CT 06018.

No folks, we’re not shootin turkeys here. We are shooting at paper targets where the best marksmen and women can win turkeys and other prizes. This is a family event – children can participate if accompanied by an adult.

There is no pre-registration, just show up shoot morning to sign up.

This is a shotgun-only shoot for 410, 20, 16 and 12 gauge shotguns. Participants should bring their own firearms, but there is a “Club 20 gauge shotgun” available.

The entry fee is $3 per person, per round, which includes ammunition. Each shooter gets one shot per round. There will be 10 rounds.

The competition requires shooting at a half dollar-sized paper target from a distance of 90 feet. The shot with a puncture closest to the cross-hairs on the target wins the round.

The Turkey Shoot is an outdoor event and will be held rain or shine- only the most extreme weather conditions will cause cancellation.

The shoot day schedule is as follows:

10:00 am   Registration

11:00 am  Shoot begins

Prizes awarded after each round.

The 5th, 7th and 9th rounds are cash award rounds. The others are turkey rounds.

This is the final Turkey Shoot in a six event series. The shoots are a major fundraiser for the Northwest CT Rod and Gun Club. All proceeds from the events will help fund the Club’s projects.
