Over the Edge NWCT Rappel for 3 Causes

Now here’s something different.

Over the Edge NWCT Rappel for 3 Causes will be held Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Torrington Towers, 52 Summer Street in Torrington, CT.

Adventurous souls can sign up  to rappel down the side of 12 story high Torrington Towers, but there are some conditions. First you must raise a minimum of $1,000 to participate. Second, although there are no age restrictions (a 97 year old has done it), participants must weigh a minimum of 100 pounds and no more than 300 pounds.

Organizers hope to reach a limit of 100 participants.

There is a soft deadline of July 15th to register so that participants will have enough time to raise the required funds before event day.

Everything is being arranged by Over The Edge, a Canadian-based company that has been organizing  rappelling fundraiser events around the United States for over ten years.

On event day, the first rappellers will go over the edge around 9:00 am based roughly on first qualified first served basis. Depending on how many sign up, the event could continue through 3:00 pm. Participants should arrive about an 45 minutes to an hour early to be fitted with gear, instructed and practice for the event.
