Canaan Railroad Days 5 Mile Run Canceled for 2020

The Canaan Railroad Days Run will be held on Sunday July 26, 2020 at the Lawrence Pavilion, 220 East Canaan Road (Main St.), North Canaan, CT  06018. The race is held on the final day of the Canaan Railroad Days celebration.

The 5 mile race, which is presented by Center Subaru, will both begin and end at the pavilion. There will also be a 2 mile walk and a 1 mile children’s run.

The route is a relatively flat paved surface.

Pre-register at, click on Canaan Railroad Days Run picture and find the “Register” bar. Free T shirts for all (including kids) who pre-register  by July 19th.

The online entry fee schedule:

Adult 5 mile runners  (13yrs +) – $20 by July 19th, $25 by July 26th, and $30 race day.

2 Mile Walk  $20

Kids 1 mile Fun Run 1(12 yrs and under) – $15.

There will be water stations, rest rooms, parking and  mile markers.

Race day schedule is as follows:

8:00 am   Registration and Number pick up

9:00 am  5 Mile runners begin, followed shortly by Kids Run and then Walkers.

Awards, raffle and refreshments after race.

Awards will be bestowed upon the top 1-3 overall male and female finishers as well as the top male and female in 8 age categories. Winners must be present to receive awards.

The Canaan Railroad Days Run is the third race  in the Grand Prix series. The first is the May Day 5K at Norbrook Farm Brewery (May 4th);  the second is the WYLD  Obstacle Run (June 29th); the Highland Lake 10K (Sept 28th.) and the Zombie Chase Challenge (Nov.). Proceeds from the race will help fund the NWCT  YMCA’s charitable services which provide memberships and program fees to deserving families and individuals.
