Northwest CT Rod and Gun Club March 29th CANCELLED
The Northwest CT Rod and Gun Club will hold its fifth of six Ham Shoots on March 29th, at the Northwest CT Rod and Gun Club, 148 South Canaan Rd (Route 7), Canaan, CT.
The last Shoot will be held April 5th when there will be an Easter egg hunt for the youngsters.
They are open to everyone. This is a family event , and children can participate if accompanied by an adult.
This is a shotgun-only shoot for 410, 20, 16 and 12 gauge shotguns. Participants should bring their own firearms, but there is a “Club 20 gauge shotgun” available.
The competition requires shooting at a half dollar-sized paper target from a distance of 90 feet. The shot with a puncture closest to the cross-hairs on the target wins the round.
The entry fee is $3 per person, per round, which includes ammunition. Each shooter gets one shot per round. There will be 10 rounds.
The Ham Shoot is an outdoor event and will be held subject to weather. If weather conditions are uncertain, call Gene on Shoot morning at (860) 307-1230 to verify that the event is still on.
There is no pre-registration, just show up shoot morning to sign up.

VFW Civilian vs. Military Rifle Match
The VFW Civilian vs. Military Rifle Match will be held Sunday, October 27, 2019 at the Northwest CT Rod and Gun Club, 148 South Canaan Road (Route 7), Canaan, CT 06018.
Entry fee is $10 per person.
Rifles must be center-fire.
Rifles are limited to maximum of .308 ( .223 are included).
No steel core bullets
No cross draw holsters
No magnum loads for steel matches
Match uses standard NRA 100 yard targets.
Iron sights only.
The competition will consist of 15 rounds, 5 from standing position, 5 from sitting/kneel position and 5 from prone position. Competitors will have 2 minutes to complete each position. Rifle slings can be used for sitting/kneeling and/or prone positions.
